Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity Data and Rights Protection

The event is organized by the National Observatory for Computer Forensics (ONIF), in collaboration with the Italian Police Workers’ Union (SILP) and Transita Foundation.

The conference will take place from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, in the charming setting of Alvino Relais at via Guglielmo Marconi 28.

The program opens with Prof. Eng. Ugo Lopez who provides an overview of the integration between digital forensics and cybersecurity, emphasizing the importance of a holistic approach to data protection.

This is followed by Dr. Nanni Bassetti, who discusses the importance of evidence collection in case of corporate IT incidents, highlighting the use of custom-built tools and artificial intelligence as key resources. Dr. Alessandro Rella brings to light Enterprise Incident Response, emphasizing how speed of action is fundamental in incident response.

Dr. Luigi Portaluri, representing Magnet Forensics, illustrates how forensic tools can be integrated for more effective digital investigations, particularly in the context of public safety. Dr. Fabio Terrone focuses on the integration of Digital Forensics and AI to strengthen corporate cybersecurity, proposing an advanced Managed Detection Response (MDR) model.

Dr. Silverio Greco explores the application of computer forensics in banking fraud, highlighting an extrajudicial approach. Mobile security is analyzed by Antonio Broi from the Financial Police, who identifies mobile devices as one of the preferred vectors in cyber attacks.

A round table, moderated by ONIF President Paolo Reale, features the participation of lawyers Paolo Pirani and Francesco Paolo Micozzi, magistrates, law enforcement, and other experts who debate various security topics. Giovanni Giovannelli introduces SOPHOS MDR services, highlighting the role of Threat Hunters in providing continuous protection to companies.

Prof. Eustachio Cardinale from the University of Bari and Prof. Stefania Stefanelli from the University of Perugia discuss the importance of university education in Data Protection, cybersecurity, and digital forensics, emphasizing the responsibility of corporate governance in adopting adequate structures.

The program concludes with technical presentations on Data Recovery Extreme, presented by Salvatore Filograno, and a practical attack with O.MG. cable by Massimiliano Graziani. Finally, Dr. Vincenza Luceri introduces the activities of the A.S.I. Space Center in Matera, closing the event with a focus on the implications of digital security in space technology.
